Read our new Throw Pink 3 part series where we interview Champions from the Throw Pink Women’s Disc Golf Championship! Our first installment features the inaugural TPWDGC Champ Missy Gannon, who talks about her victory, what she has been up to this off season, and more! We hope you enjoy getting a little insight into our Throw Pink Champions’ lives!

What do you remember most about your Throw Pink Championship Victory?

I’d have to say it was how I felt on the tee of hole 18 of the final round. I was only up 2 strokes. There was a long back up and we waited for a while to tee off.

However, I was completely calm and clear headed. Thoughts like: “I could win”, “I could blow this up on the last hole, or even “All I need is a bogey and to win”  were not factors in my mindset entering that tee shot. I felt more confident than any of the previous rounds to execute my game plan on hole 18. As a matter of fact, I had a circle’s edge putt for birdie and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t more nervous for the layup than any other shot that weekend, lol.

To me, this is the most impressed I’ve been with myself in my entire career!

What are some Books/ TV shows/ Movies that you have been into lately?

For TV/Movies I mostly watch sports documentaries. I love underdog stories, because I find them really relatable and they inspire me in my own pursuits.

Currently I like a show called Wrexham, also I am enjoying a book right now called “everyone here is lying” by Shari Lapena

Looking back on this year, what were some things that stood out to you in a positive way?

Really just one thing, my consistency. I felt like I was in the mix every weekend. I had 21 top 10 finishes out of 24 events. 14 of those were in the top 5 and 9 of those were podiums. I’m just very proud of myself and my accomplishments this year.

What are things you enjoy during your disc golf off-season?

Well currently a lot of my focus has been on making my new house into a home. It’s a lot more work than I expected, but it’s been really exciting as well. Also, doctor check ups and prioritizing my health. Those types of mundane but essential things are really hard to get done during the season so it has to get done now. Finally, I’ve been enjoying doing laundry whenever I want. 😂

Where do people need to go to support you and buy your tour series discs and merchandise?
