Getting Involved in Throw Pink

How I can help change the world of disc golf

Never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in! This is such a timeless, powerful statement and thankfully, with the support of Throw Pink, I know I will never have to stand alone.

My Throw Pink Origin Story

Since I joined the Throw Pink team last year, I have felt a strong sense of community and empowerment. In the very beginning, Lisa Fajkus reached out to me and asked if I would be interested in joining Throw Pink. We had played a couple of disc golf rounds and Lisa was such a pleasure to be around, always making me feel comfortable and welcomed, so I was especially honored when she reached out. I then was able to speak with co-founder Sara Nicholson and just knew that I’d fit right in with the team and its goals to increase diversity in disc golf.

Throw Pink is a Difference Maker

One of the ways I am most proud of Throw Pink is that we use our voice to make a difference and to stand up for what we believe in. I have seen posts from Throw Pink regarding the Black Lives Matter movement and how the health and well-being of black women and girls do matter, inspirational messages from team members, and even the history of women in sports. I am so proud to be a part of a team that is not afraid to stand up for what is right even when it may ruffle some feathers.

Throw Pink = More Women in Disc Golf

Throw Pink has already done a bunch to bring more women into disc golf. That includes: Throw Pink activists Debbie Scott and Casey Haren kicking off the Charlotte Women’s league with 25 women and girls, helping with the creation of the PDGA Women’s Global Event, gaining momentum on a newly created grant program for women athletes, and more. Plus, you can’t forget all of the team members who have raised money for their charity of their choice throughout the years.

Get Your Town Involved

What’s great about Throw Pink, is the ability to directly impact your own community. We are all able to select our own initiative and goals for the year.

It’s easy to see that together as a team we are making a difference in disc golf and the country.

You can help make a difference by donating or throwing your own Throw Pink event. Contact us to get started:
